Mengenakan soft lense atau lensa kontak adalah alternatif pengganti kacamata agar Anda mampu melihat dengan baik. Tips memilih soft lense yang tepat bagi mata

Saat ini di pasaran tersedia berbagai jenis soft lense, mulai dari model, warna, serta masa pemakaian singkat seperti satu hari saja sehingga Anda bisa memastikan lensa kontak yang dipakai selalu terjaga kebersihannya setiap harinya. Penting untuk memilih soft lense yang tepat karenabersentuhan langsung dengan mata. Memilih soft lense sembarangan dapat menyebabkan risiko gangguan penglihatan.

1. Jenis lensa kontak

Ada dua jenis lensa kontak yang banyak dijumpai di toko optik yaitu soft lense dan hard lense atau rigid gas permeable contact lense (RGPs). Soft lense cocok untuk Anda yang memiliki masalah refraksi mata seperti rabun dekat, rabun jauh, silinder, dan presbiopia. Tekstur lensa mata yang lembut menyerupai kornea mata membuat jenis lensa kontak ini lebih nyaman digunakan.

Sedangkan hard lense atau RGPs adalah jenis lensa kontak yang lebih kaku daripada soft lense namun masih tetap dapat membiarkan oksigen masuk ke mata. Salah satu kelebihan hard lense  adalah dapat memberikan penglihatan yang lebih tajam jika dibandingkan dengan soft lense.

2. Kadar air lensa kontak

Salah satu pertimbangan sebelum memilih lensa kontak adalah kandungan air pada lensa kontak. Masing-masing lensa kontak memiliki kadar air yang berbeda-beda. Bagi Anda yang memiliki mata kering sebaiknya memiliki lensa kontak dengan kandungan air yang cukup agar tidak menyebabkan mata lelah dan iritasi.

3. Durasi pemakaian lensa

Setiap lensa kontak memiliki durasi pemakaian yang berbeda-beda. Anda bisa memilih lensa kontak harian, dua mingguan atau bulanan. Untuk lensa kontak selain lensa harian, Anda harus melepas, menyimpan dan membilas lensa kontak dengan baik agar tidak menyebabkan iritasi dan menjaga kebersihan lensa kontak setiap akan digunakan.

4. Bahan soft lense

Saat ini banyak tersedia soft lense dari bahan silikon yang membuat kornea mata tetap bisa bernapas dan mendapat oksigen. Lensa mata berbahan ini dapat mencegah iritasi dari mata kering terutama jika Anda menggunakannya untuk pemakaian sehari-hari.

5. Tanggal kedaluwarsa

Pilih soft lense yang memiliki tanggal kedaluwarsa jauh dari tanggal pemakaian. Menggunakan soft lense yang melebihi tanggal kedaluwarsa dapat berisiko membuat mata iritasi, gatal dan kering.
