Kenapa nafas dari hidung berbau

dok kenapa ya nafas dari hidung saya berbau, sudah dari tahun lalu tapi bau nya ga hilang², saya sudah cek ke puskesmas(1) katanya hanya maag akhirnya saya minum obat maag kurang dari dua minggu, tapi bau nya belum hilang juga karena saya gaada penyakit maag/asam lambung, coba lagi ke puskesmas(2) katanya sinusitis akhirnya dirujuk ke rs dr.THT, sudah CT scan kepala tapi tidak ada sinusitis, hidung saya juga bersih katanya hanya alergi, dikasi obat alergi dan pembersih hidung, tapi bau nya tetep ga hilang² dok, gimana ya ? Makan saya juga terjaga (tidak makan yg berbau bawang, pete, makanan pedas, asem, tidak minum kopi) apakah saya harus cek ke dokter spesialis penyakit dalam ?

Keluhan bau dari hidung yang tercium saat napas, bisa disebabkan oleh beberapa hal seperti polip hidung, sinusitis, postnasal drip, kerusakan gigi, batu tonsil serta phantosmia. 

Gejala-gejala penyerta dapat dialami saat munculnya keluhan hidung berbau, yakni hidung berlendir, sakit kepala, mendengkur, demam dan sakit gigi yang menandakan adanya kemungkinan infeksi. Agar hidung berbau bisa berkurang atau menghilang, dapat melakukan usaha berikut ini:

  • Penuhi kebutuhan minum minimal 8 gelas per hari;
  • Tidur dengan posisi kepala ditinggikan;
  • Menjaga kesehatan gigi dengan sikat gigi setiap hari minimal 2 kali sehari;
  • Berkumur dengan air garam;
  • Hindari merokok;
  • Menggunakan humidifier.

Ada baiknya memeriksakan kembali ke dokter dengan menceritakan riwayat pengobatan yang lengkap agar dokter dapat menindaklanjuti keluhan secara seksama. Utamakan untuk kembali ke dokter spesialis THT terlebih dahulu karena merupakan kompetensinya.

Jika keluhan tidak kunjung menghilang setelah beberapa hal dilakukan, maka terdapat kemungkinan phantosmia yakni adanya sensasi mencium sesuatu tetapi pada faktanya tidak ada yang mengganggu atau bisa disebut sebagai halusinasi olfaktori. Keadaan ini perlu penanganan lanjutan oleh dokter setelah serangkaian pemeriksaan dilakukan.

Waspadai apabila hidung berbau semakin berat dirasakan, disertai adanya penurunan berat badan, sakit kepala hebat dan hidung mimisan, maka hendaknya tidak menunda kunjungan ke fasilitas kesehatan terdekat.
